President for Automobile Association of Singapore
as Gerard Ee Steps Down

Mr. Gerard
Ee has stepped down as President of Automobile Association
of Singapore (AA) at the end of his term, 31 May 2006. Mr.
Ee has made the announcement in his address to members at
the Association's Annual General Meeting held on 31 May.
A new
President, Mr Bernard Tay has been elected into office at
this AGM and takes over from 1 June 2006.
Mr. Gerard
Ee has spent 20 years with AA, having been elected into the
General Committee in April 1986. He was elected to be Vice
President in May 1988 and took over as President in 1996.
Mr Ee has been at the helm of the Association for the last
10 years. During his strong leadership, Mr Ee was instrumental
in leading the Association to new market and product opportunities,
establishing AA as the leading service provider for roadside
assistance and guiding the Association to leverage on modern
technology, and thus strengthening the Association over the
years.
"I
am indeed grafeful that we have been able to achieve so much
together in the last 20 years. This has been possible with
the strong support from the General Committee and the AA members.
Under the new leadership of Mr Bernard Tay, I am confident
AA will forge on to establish milestones and continue its
vital motoring role." commented Mr. Ee.
Mr. Bernard
Tay, 57, is presently the Chairman of a corporate advisory
company. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants (U.K.), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants
of Singapore and Taxation Institute of Australia. He served
as a member of AA's Staff Sub-Committee since 1988 and has
been the Vice-President of AA since 2004. Mr. Tay is currently
actively involved in voluntary community work and is an Independent
Director to various public listed companies. He is also the
Vice-President of the Singapore Productivity Association.
Mr. Tay
said, "I am truly honoured to be given the opportunity
to serve as the next President. I shall strive to do my best
to continue and consolidate the work we have carried out these
past years."
