The first AA Golf Tournament on 25 August was a resounding
success with more than 200 AA members and friends competing
for honours at the scenic NSRCC Kranji Sanctuary Golf Course.
Some golfers came as early as 6.30am to battle it out for
the incandescent hole-in-one prize - a gleaming SsangYong
Musso Sports, and the AA President's Trophy for the overall
champion for that day.
The brilliant
weather with clear blue skies and the delightful green formed
the perfect backdrop to encourage interaction, as well as
promote and strengthen the bond between the Association and
its members. With the huge response for this golf tournament,
the Organising Committee intends to make this a yearly affair.
Overall
Champion Mr Teow Min Kwee beat close rival Mr Hwang Yiang
Hwee on the former's birthday to lifting the AA President's
Cup at our inaugural event by beating their 44 points on countback.
Another
milestone unveiled on that day is the launch of AA
Golf Network, an exclusive golf section that organises
regular golf trips and activities for members. The affordable
monthly subscription was made more attractive with a special
promotion for that day only - members pay only $24 for one
year and they enjoy another year free. A total of 39 golfers
signed up on that day.
After
a sunny day on the green, all golfers and GC members settled
down to a buffet dinner at the clubhouse for a sumptuous and
well-deserved celebration. Everyone had a good time talking
about the day's events and forming alliances with new golf
buddies.
