AA President Meets the Media Representatives

Following his inauguration in June, AA's President Mr. Bernard Tay met with the media at The
Tanglin Club on Wednesday, 16 August 2006 for an informal get-together to discuss how AA, as the only voice in Singapore representing motorists, could work hand-in-hand with the media to the benefit of motorists. Mr Tay also shared on his vision for the Association -- to further emphasise that AA goes beyond roadside assistance, communicating its "local membership, global benefits" to a larger group of motorists, and to strengthen AA's position as an advocate for motorists.

As part of his plans to strengthen the AA's stance as an advocate for motorists, he also shared that the Association will be engaging the relevant authorities on possible long term alternative proposals and plans to alleviate the perennial jams on CTE. He said, "Motorists should not be paying to go into jams." Through a Q&A session towards the end of the gathering, Mr Tay also gave an insight on his projects along the pipeline - AA's Centennial Celebrations, improvement in communication channels between members and the Association, to increase the membership base and, further enhance benefits for its members. "We will remain to be members-centric," added Mr. Tay.
