- Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE)
The Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) opens on 26 Oct 07.
It stretches from the East Coast Parkway (ECP) to the Tampines
Expressway (TPE).Phase 1, the section that extends from the ECP
to the PIE, opens to the public on 26 Oct 2007. The KPE was built
to provide an alternative route for those staying in the northeast

From Tuesday, 28 February 2006, motor dealers in Singapore
will be able to submit vehicle registration and transfer
applications for their customers online. For vehicle buyers
and owners, this means a one-stop service and shorter turnaround
time when buying and selling their vehicles.

Speed Limits for 65 Stretches of Roads in Western Part of
Singapore
The Traffic Police (TP) and Land Transport Authority (LTA)have
completed the comprehensive road speed limit review for
the Western part of Singapore. Following the review, 65
stretches of roads in areas such as Bukit Batok, Choa Chu
Kang, Jurong, Tuas, Upper Bukit Timah and West Coast will
have their speed limits revisedwith effect from 6 January
2006 . Please see Annex A for the list of roads with the
revised speed limits.

Flares in Imported Japanese Domestic Vehicles
Signal flares which are found in imported Japanese domestic
vehicles, are controlled items under the Arms & Explosives
Act according to SPF. Affected car owners to remove and
surrender the signal flares to LTA.
- Hire-Purchase (Amendment) Bill 2004
Following amendments to the Hire Purchase Act, car loans
no longer must adopt the Rule of 78 method and car buyers
may pay off loans early without penalty.

Accident Fund (TAF)
A financial assistance scheme, fund-raised by the National
Safety Council and the Traffic Police, for people who have
acquired permanent or temporary disability as a result of
a road traffic accident.

Transport Guide
The 3rd edition of the Green Transport Guide
has been published in conjunction with the Green Transport
Day 2006, to raise public awareness of greener forms of
transportation and fuel economy of passenger cars.
