Revised as at 16 June 2020

Dear all

In view of supporting vehicle owners to abide by the elevated set of safe distancing measures, the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) vehicle services will remain accessible to the public via the OneMotoring website.

Arising from representations by the Singapore Vehicle Traders Association, LTA will also be making the following adjustments to assist Electronic Service Agents (ESAs) affected by the COVID-19 outbreak:

  • Auto-Extension of Temporary Ownership Period for 3 months at No Extension Fee
    • From 14 June 2020, the temporary ownership period of eligible vehicles will be automatically extended for 3 months with no deduction of extension fee. Eligibility criteria for the 3-month auto-extension:
      • Vehicles whose temporary ownership start date is on or before 2359hrs of 6 April 2020;
      • Vehicles whose maximum temporary ownership period has not expired as at 2359hrs of 6 April 2020; and
      • Vehicles still under the Temporary Transfer Vehicle Scheme (TTVS) as at 14 June 2020.
  • Extension of Maximum Storage Period for Deregistered Vehicles in Export Processing Zones (EPZs)
    • From 14 June 2020, the maximum storage period of deregistered vehicles in the EPZs may be extended from 12 months to 18 months, if the vehicle meets the following conditions:
      • Vehicle entered EPZ on or before 2359hrs of 6 April 2020; and
      • Vehicle has not exceeded the 12-month storage period as at 6 April 2020.

The aforementioned adjustments are in addition to:

  • Periodic vehicle inspection for private cars will be deferred
  • Seal inspection for Off-Peak Cars will be waived during this period
  • Disposal of de-registered vehicles or whose one-month deadline for disposal falls within 7 April 2020 to 4 May 2020 will be given an additional two months’ extension to dispose of their vehicles
  • For vehicles whose disposal deadline falls between 2 June and 2 July 2020, an additional disposal grace period of one month will be given. This will also apply to owners whose deadline had been extended previously.
  • Registration of replacement vehicle under the Early Turnover Scheme (ETS) during this period will be given additional two months to register their replacement vehicle
  • COE bidding exercises in the month of May will continue to be suspended during the extended circuit breaker period
